Social Work Internship

graduate level, clinical focus

We're offering at least one academic year internship to start September 4, 2017 in Northampton, MA. This is ideal for an advanced Masters level social work student primarily interested in clinical practice. Substantial prior training and experience as a therapist is required; also this is an internship, it is not suitable for beginning therapists.

The internship features 14 days of clinical training as well as ongoing supervision in our trauma-informed treatment approach. The intern will provide therapy in the Private Intensive Therapy Retreat format. Supervision will be provided.

The intern is responsible for his/her own living arrangements/expenses; no stipend is provided.

Human Services/Social Work Internship

case work focus

We're offering at least one academic year internship to start August or September, 2017 in Northampton, MA. This is ideal for an advanced Bachelors or beginning Masters level social work student with a primary interest in case work. Hours negotiable.

The intern will serve as the Resource Coordinator for our Intensive Trauma Therapy For Victims of Crime program, to assist our therapy clients in identifying and accessing other services. Supervision will be provided. If a given intern is interested and has the time, additionally some trauma therapy training will be provided, but there will be little or no opportunity to provide therapy on site.

The intern is responsible for his/her own living arrangements/expenses; no stipend is provided.

Post-Doc, Pre-Licensed, or Mid-Career 1-Year Fellowship

Year-long fellowship to start early September 2017 in Northampton, MA or Greensboro, NC; additional year option by mutual agreement. Pay is competitive. The fellowship features 14 days of training in our trauma-informed treatment approach, as well as two hours of weekly supervision (1 ind, 1 grp). Fellows will provide Private Intensive Therapy Retreats. Options for research and (in 2nd year) development as a trainer.

Fellowship candidates will have earned their postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field; if you are close but not quite there, you can explain and request consideration. Trauma therapy experience is nice, but more important is being a good therapist, smart, caring, ethical, responsible, and enterprising.

College Summer or Fall Internship

Internship, half time to full time, to start late summer or fall, in Northampton, MA. This is ideal for a college student interested in trauma, psychotherapy, social work, and/or human services more generally.

Past interns have been involved in research, child care for therapy clients, telephone post-therapy evaluations, data base management, etc. Duties to be determined as the best combination of our needs and your interests.

The intern is responsible for his/her own living arrangements/expenses; no stipend is provided. However, the intern will be welcome to attend a 5-day trauma therapy training (normally only for mental health professionals; this will be for educational purposes only, not to provide therapy) September 18-22.
