For EMDR-trained clinicians only.
We offer specialized workshops from 1/2 day to 2 days, tailored to the needs of your participants. For example:
- EMDR for children.
- EMDR for very young children.
- EMDR for adolescents.
- EMDR for children in a family systems approach.
- EMDR for kids with disruptive behaviors.
- EMDR for kids in residential treatment.
- EMDR for kids in foster care.
- EMDR in school settings.
- EMDR in crisis/disaster response.
The training program involves lecture, demonstration, in-class practice, and on-the-job practice with your clients. This is an experiential training, and part of the learning is to practice the interventions with other participants.
Training can be provided at your location. Scheduling is flexible and can be designed to suit the needs of your organization.
Individuals may also organize trainings and receive a discount on tuition.

The standard 2-day workshop, EMDR for Children, begins with the 1-day Fairy Tale Model of Trauma Treatment, required to attend 2nd day, and included in your registration (below).
The 2nd day of the 2-day EMDR for Children workshop will cover the fundamentals of using EMDR with children and adolescents. It is designed for those who already work with children and adolescents and want to learn more about how to include EMDR. Topics include: technical modifications of standard EMDR components; protocol variations by age group (toddler, young child, older child, teenager); related family therapy interventions; and integration of EMDR into a comprehensive treatment approach. Workshop activities will include lecture, video demonstration, and small group practice. Participants will have hands-on practice with the primary EMDR methods used with kids.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Conduct a trauma-informed evaluation, including trauma/loss history.
- Explain to clients how past trauma or loss can lead to ongoing problem behaviors or symptoms.
- Develop a systematic and comprehensive trauma-informed treatment plan.
- Problem-solve their own (or their supervisees') challenging cases using the trauma-informed treatment perspective.
- implement the practical technical skills needed to adapt EMDR for use with children and adolescents.
- adjust the EMDR protocol to accommodate the age of the child.
- work with parents to facilitate their support of EMDR.
- integrate EMDR into a comprehensive child treatment approach.
