We provide hands-on skills training for working with kids who have been exposed to significant trauma or loss, and with their care-givers. Participants should be working directly with children and/or adolescents, or should be involved in this work as supervisor, advocate, judge, etc. This customized training will cover:

• child trauma theory
• impact of trauma and loss on kids' presenting problems
• how to implement a healing relationship
• self-care for those who work with distressed kids
• practical skills that pertain directly to your work with kids and their care-givers

The training program involves lecture, demonstration, in-class practice, and (hopefully) on-the-job practice with your clients. This is an experiential training, and part of the learning is to practice the interventions with other participants. Ideal group size varies depending on the program.

The training program is tailored to your group's work setting and needs. Child Trauma Institute programs can be helpful for:
