Child Trauma Institute Training - Continuing Professional Education


The content of the CTI training programs have the highest level of research support - Level A.

The Institute on Violence, Abuse, and Trauma (IVAT) of Alliant International University (San Diego, CA) offers up to 126 hours of continuing education credits for the following professions:

Psychologists
IVAT is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IVAT maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Nationally Certified and Other Counselors
IVAT is recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer continuing education for counselors (Provider #5659). IVAT adheres to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines.

Marriage & Family Therapists and Social Workers*
IVAT is approved by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (PCE #33) to offer continuing education for MFTs and LCSWs. These courses meet the qualifications for up to 126 hours of continuing education for MFTs and/ or LCSWs as required by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences

Nurses*
IVAT is approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses to offer continuing education for nurses (CEP #13737).

Substance Abuse Counselors*
IVAT is approved by the California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC) to offer continuing education for certified alcohol and drug counselors (Provider# 1s-03-499-0109).

*CA professional CE credits are honored in most states. Please check with your own state board to confirm that you will be able to get CE credit for this program.
