Child Trauma Institute, Inc. Policies
Re Privacy, Shipping, Returns, Cancellations, & Donations

Privacy:

When you do business with CTI, we add you to our e-mailing list and send out occasional e-newsletters. You may request to be removed from this list.

We do not share your name or contact information with anyone. Exceptions:

For training programs, this policy applies only to those programs for which CTI is responsible for participant registration. Other sponsors/producers of CTI programs may have other policies.

Shipping:

We offer free shipping on all items, within the USA and using the shipping method of our choice. If you want us to rush-ship or to ship outside the USA, please e-mail or call us for the cost, so you will have the right amount to enter in the order form.

We offer an e-mail discount on those items that can be sent in pdf files. When you choose the e-mail option, we save on printing and shipping costs, and we pass the savings on to you.

Most of our work is providing training "on location" all over the world. Our office person works only part time and is not in every day. Orders will be processed at least once per week, and generally more frequently.

Returns:

This policy applies to purchases of books, assessment instruments, or other items.

Returns that are due to CTI error (for example, having sent a wrong or defective item) will be replaced at no charge, as long as the item is in the original unused/undamaged condition. If you need to make a return, please contact the CTI office for instructions.

If only some items are being returned from a purchase that involved a quantity or combination-purchase discount, the refund amount will be adjusted to take into account the price for the remaining item(s).

Returns for books are allowed for any reason, as long as the the item is in the original unused/undamaged condition. Returns that are not due to CTI error will be subject to a 25% re-stocking fee (CTI not responsible for return shipping). Sorry, but we are a small non-profit and we have to cover our shipping and administrative costs.

No refund will be provided for paper/emailed items such as assessment instruments, article reprints, etc., unless due to CTI error. This is because there would be no way to determine that the items have not already been used. Also no refund on journal subscriptions, unless you can work this out directly with the publisher.

Cancellations:

This policy only applies to those programs for which CTI is responsible for participant registration. Other sponsors/producers of CTI programs may have other policies.

If CTI cancels a course, participants will be offered a full refund, or may choose to apply their registration fee to another scheduled course.

If the participant cancels at least 30 days* before the first course meeting, CTI will provide a full refund less a $100 processing fee**.

If the participant cancels less than 30 days* before the first course meeting, CTI will provide a full refund less a $200 processing fee**, as long as the participant's slot in the course is filled. There will be no refund of the registration fee if the slot is not filled.

Substitutions may be made (i.e., the participant may send another otherwise eligible participant in his/her place) for a $100 processing fee**.

No refund if the participant no-shows or cancels on or after the day of the first course meeting.

No refund for the EMDR Group Consultation unless the slot is filled, in which case the $100 processing fee will apply.

No refund for home study programs.

Participants who cancel due to medical emergencies or other special circumstances may explain these circumstances in writing (e-mail is ok) and request special consideration. In such circumstances CTI may, at its sole discretion, offer special arrangements.

*60 days for the Certificate program.

**For lower-cost workshops, this fee will be set at 50% of the workshop's total non-discounted tuition if that would make the fee lower. For example, if the workshop tuition is $150, this fee would be $75. The minimum fee is $50.
